How to check game contribution

Published · Updated · 3 min read · Sherpa Desk

How does game contribution affect bonus wagering?

Game contribution determines how much of each eligible stake reduces a wagering balance. At 25% contribution, a $4 stake creates $1 of progress; an excluded game creates none and may breach the terms. Use the promotion’s current game table because categories and percentages are operator- and offer-specific, not universal.

  1. 1Open the offer-specific eligible-games or contribution table.
  2. 2Match the exact game title and provider, not just its category.
  3. 3Multiply each stake by its stated contribution percentage.
  4. 4Check maximum stake and excluded-play rules before starting.

Contribution is an accounting rule for wagering progress. It is not a measure of a game’s payout or safety.

Find the offer-specific table

Look for “eligible games,” “game weighting,” “contribution” or “excluded games” in the full promotion terms. Search for the exact game title and provider. A general label such as “slots” or “table games” may not resolve exceptions.

Do not copy a percentage from another operator or promotion. Terms can differ between offers on the same site and can be updated.

Calculate credited progress

Use:

stake × contribution percentage = credited wagering progress

A $5 eligible stake at 20% creates $1 of progress. If $200 remains, $1,000 of such stakes would be needed to create $200 of credited progress. This illustrates the commitment; it does not predict results or recommend placing those bets.

At 0%, the play creates no progress. An excluded game may also trigger a separate term, so “it simply won’t count” is not always a safe assumption.

Check adjacent restrictions

Record the maximum stake, whether bonus and cash balances are used in a defined order, and what happens after a game is removed from the eligible list. Save the terms that applied when you opted in, including date and promotion identifier.

Stop when the table is unclear

If a game appears in conflicting lists, do not test it with real money. Ask the operator in writing. If the answer is not clear enough to calculate progress before playing, decline the promotion.

Questions

Do slots always contribute 100%?

No universal rule makes that true. Individual games, providers or categories may have different rates or be excluded. Use the current offer-specific table.

Can I use an excluded game?

It may create no progress and could breach the promotion terms. Do not play until the operator clarifies an ambiguous listing.
