Free Spins
Free spins terms checklist
What should I check before claiming free spins?
Before claiming free spins, check the eligible game, number and value of spins, activation step, expiry, country and customer eligibility, and conditions on resulting winnings. Confirm whether a deposit is required and whether “free” still involves risking your money. Decline the offer if material terms are hidden or unclear.
- Headline can omit
- Value per spin
- Two deadlines
- Use spins; use winnings
- Possible condition
- Deposit or opt-in
- Never assume
- Winnings are unrestricted cash
- 1Confirm whether a deposit, code or opt-in is required.
- 2Record the exact game, number of spins and value per spin.
- 3Check when spins and resulting winnings expire.
- 4Read wagering and withdrawal conditions on winnings.
Counting spins is not enough to compare promotions. Their monetary stake, eligible game and the rules on resulting winnings determine what the headline means.
Decode the headline
Write down the number of spins and value per spin. Fifty spins at $0.10 represent $5 of gameplay; fifty at $0.20 represent $10. Neither figure is cash value, and neither predicts winnings.
Check whether the offer requires a deposit, a particular payment method, a code, opt-in or play on a named game. The ASA bonus guidance says “free” can be misleading where customers must risk their own money.
Look for two expiry clocks
One deadline may govern when the spins must be used. Another may govern resulting promotional winnings. Record both, including time zone. Do not speed up or extend play merely because value is expiring.
Follow the winnings
The result may enter a restricted balance rather than cash. Check:
- the wagering base and multiplier;
- eligible games and contribution;
- maximum permitted stake;
- conversion and withdrawal conditions;
- what happens if you cancel the promotion.
Do not describe winnings as “instant cash” unless the current terms explicitly make them withdrawable without another condition.
Compare fit, not spin count
An offer with more spins can be less suitable when the stake is smaller, eligibility narrower or resulting conditions heavier. If the page does not surface these significant conditions or link clearly to full terms, wait for clarification or decline.
Finally, decide from the budget you set before seeing the promotion. Free spins are still gambling-style play with random outcomes; they do not lower the underlying risk of the game.

Questions
Are free spins always free?
No. Some require a deposit, opt-in or other paid action. The ASA says a free claim can mislead when customers must risk their own money.
Can I withdraw free-spins winnings immediately?
Only if the specific terms say so. Resulting winnings may be restricted by wagering, expiry or conversion rules.
